In city E, If 75% of them watched less than two movies a week , then 25% watched two or more movie per week .
    ∴ 25% ≡ 8000

    ⇒ 1% ≡
    8000
    25

    ∴ 100% ≡
    8000
    × 100 = 32000

On the basis of given table in question ,
Let total number of film watchers be 100% .
In city A , If 60% of them watched less than two movies a week , then 40% watched two or more movie per week .
    ∴ 40% ≈ 2400

    ⇒ 1% =
    2400
    40

    Now , 100% =
    100 × 2400
    = 6000
    40

    Similarly for city B,
    ⇒ 100% =
    100 × 3000
    = 3750
    80

    Correct Option: C

On the basis of given table in question ,
Let total number of film watchers be 100% .
In city A , If 60% of them watched less than two movies a week , then 40% watched two or more movie per week .
    ∴ 40% ≈ 2400

    2400
    40

    Now , 100% =
    100 × 2400
    = 6000
    40

    Similarly for city B,
    ⇒ 100% =
    100 × 3000
    = 3750
    80

    For city C,
    ⇒ 100% =
    100 × 2400
    = 16000
    15

    For city D,
    ⇒ 100% =
    100 × 2700
    = 6000
    45

    For city E,
    ⇒ 100% =
    100 × 8000
    = 32000
    25

Hence , the lowest number is for city B .

Direction: The table given below depicts the export of a commodity through four ports in the years 1998 and 1999.

  1. The percentage increase in the export of the commodity from the year 1998 to 1999 was the lowest from which port?

  1. View Hint View Answer Discuss in Forum

According to given table, we have
Export of Port C in 1998 = 229 crore rupees
Export of Port C in 1999 = 234 crore rupees
    Increase = 234 - 229 = 5 crore rupees

Percentage increase in Port C →
    5
    × 100 = 2.2%
    229

Similarly , we can find percentage increase in other ports

    Correct Option: C

According to given table, we have
Export of Port C in 1998 = 229 crore rupees
Export of Port C in 1999 = 234 crore rupees
    Increase = 234 - 229 = 5 crore rupees

Percentage increase in Port C →
    5
    × 100 = 2.2%
    229

From above , the Percentage increase in the export of the commodity was the lowest from port C.
