As per the given question, we can say that

| B’s one day's work = | 1 | 12 |
| C’s one day's work = | 1 | 16 |
D’s one day’s work = 1/3 - (1/8 + 1/12 + 1/16) = 3/48 = 1/16
Thus the ratio of efficiencies of A, B , C and D is 1/8 : 1/12 : 1/16 : 1/16 = 6 : 4 : 3 : 3
We have total wages = 6k + 4k + 3k + 3k = 1440
⇒ 16k = 1440 ⇒ k = 1440/16 = 90
∴ Share's D = 3k = 3 x 90 = ₹ 270
