Suppose the age of A is P years and that of B is Q years.
According to question,
age of A = age of B + 16 years
P = Q + 16
⇒ P – Q = 16 ......(i)

⇒ 2P = 3Q
⇒ 2P – 3Q = 0 ......(ii)
From equations (i) and (ii) , we get
P = 48 years
