The full form of AICTE is All India Council for Technical Education. It is a national-level council for technical education in India and it comes under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development.
AICTE is founded in November 1945 to manage planning and coordination to develop the technical and management education system of India.
The current chairman of AICTE is Anil Sahasrabudhe and vice-chairman is M P Poonia.
AICTE headquartered in New Delhi, and it has regional offices in Kanpur, Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Mumbai, Bhopal, Vadodara, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Thiruvananthapuram.
AICTE is responsible to provide approval to technical and management programs for collage who run these courses. These courses are Engineering, Technology, Architecture, Town Planning, Management, Pharmacy, vocational, education, Hotel Management, and Catering Technology, etc.
