The full form of ONGC is Oil and Natural Gas Corporation. ONGC is a Multinational company that produces crude oil and natural oil in India. It is a Public sector company, under the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas. It was founded on 14 August 1956, and headquartered in New Delhi. The current Chairman of ONGC is Shashi Shankar.
It is the largest producer of petroleum and natural gas in India. It produces around 70% of the total crude oil produced in India and around 60% of the total natural gas produced in India.
