  1. There is a number consisting of two digits, the digit in the unit's place is twice that in the tens’ place and if 2 be subtracted from the sum of the digits, the difference is equal to 1/6 of the number. The number is

Ten’s digit of original number = P
∴  Unit’s digit = 2P
According to given question;
∴  Number = 10P + 2P = 12P
According to the question,

3P – 2 =
1
× 12P
6

⇒  3P – 2 = 2P
⇒  3P – 2P = 2
⇒  P = 2
∴  Number = 12P = 12 × 2 = 2 = 24
