The population of a town is 10,000. If the males increases by 5% and the females by 6%, the population will be 10,540. How many females are there?

Correct Option: A

If the number of women be x, then men = 10000 – x

∴	x × 6	+	(10000 - x) × 5	= 10540 – 10000 = 540
