If selling price of an article is (8 / 5) times its cost price, the profit percent on it is :

Let the C.P. be y

∴ S.P. =	8	y
	5

∴ Gain =		8y - 5y	=	3y

Now, Gain % =	(3y / 5)	× 100
	y

Gain % =	3	× 100 = 60%
