Direction: In each question below is given a statement followed by two assumption numbered I and II. An assumption is something supposed or taken for granted. You have to consider the statement and the following assumption and decide which of the assumption is implicit in the statement.

  1. Statement:
"If the Indian men play to potential they have a good chance to make the grade this time in Thomas Cup."----The coach of Indian badminton team.
    Assumptions:
    I. Indian men have the potential to win the trophy.
II. Indian men have the potential but they do not want to perform good.
    1. if only assumption I is implicit.
    2. if only assumption II is implicit.
    3. if either I or II is implicit.
    4. if neither I nor II is implicit.
    5. if both I and II are implicit.
Correct Option: A

The coach is assuming I, otherwise he won't stress on his men's potential. II can't be assumed : the intention of player is a different matter.
