- If the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
- If the data in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question
- If the data either in statement I alone or in statement II alone are sufficient to answer the question.
- If the data even in both statements I and II together are not sufficient to answer the question.
- If the data in statement I alone are sufficient to answer the question, while the data in statement I alone are not sufficient to answer the question.
Correct Option: A
According to above given statements , we have
From statement I ,
Population in 1997 = 120000.
Population increases in 1997 = 120000 of 20% = 120000 x ( 20 / 100 ) = 24000
Population in 1998 = Population in 1997 + Population increase = 120000 + 24000 = 144000
Population increases in 1998 = 144000 of 20% = 144000 x ( 20/ 100 ) = 28800
Now , Population in 1999 = Population in 1998 + Population increase = 144000 + 28800 = 172800
From statement II ,
Population of State A in 1997 = 2 x Population of State B in 1997
From above both statements , it is clear that Only statement I alone is sufficient.
