    Quick spread of infectious disease to a large number of population within a small interval of time ( two weeks or less than two weeks) is called as Epidemic.

    Example-malaria, smallpox,Yellow fever,cholera etc.

    Type of Epidemic-three type of Epidemic
    1.Point source - all cases are infected at the same time, from a single source. Ex-Food& water
    2.Continuous source - People infected from common source. Ex -polluted water, spoiled food
    3.Person-to-Person -common agent spread from one person to another person.Ex- Influenza.
