  1. The smallest fraction which should be subtracted from the sum of 13/4, 21/2, 57/12, 31/3 and 21/4 to make the result a whole number is ?
    1. 5/12
    2. 7/12
    3. 1/2
    4. 7
Correct Option: A

∴ 7/4 + 5/2 + 67/12 + 10 + 9/4 = (21 + 30 + 67 + 40 + 27/12) = 185/12

This is nearly greater than 15. Let required fraction be x.
Then, 185/12 - x = 15
∴ x = (185/12) - 15
= 5/12
