Three years ago the average age of A and B was 18 years. With C joining them, now the average become 22 years. How old is C now ?

Sum of age of A and B, 3 years ago = (18 x 2) = 36 years
Sum of ages of A, B and C, now = (22 x 3) = 66 years
Sum of ages of A and B, now = (36 + 6) years = 42 years
∴ C's present age = (66 - 42) years = 24 years
